Blurb:

They took something from me, something that I didn’t know I needed until it was too late.

They hurt her.

They broke her… broke us.

Now it’s my turn.

The need for revenge burns through my veins.

I’ll take everything from them.

I’ll hunt them down one by one.

I’ll make them pay in unimaginable ways.

No one will ever hurt her again, not even me.

The only question is, will I find my way back to Aspen before it’s too late.

My 5* Review:

This is the final book in the Corium University Trilogy and the conclusion to Quinton and Aspen’s story. The authors have packed this with twists and turns, and unexpected revelations that will keep you captivated. There were some great surprises, lots of shocks but also some heartbreaking moments in this emotional rollercoaster of a read. It is a stunning and thrilling ending to this excellent series.

Broken Kingdom is a great title for this book as both Quinton and Aspen are broken after the cliffhanger of Drop Dead Queen. Quinton is out for revenge for Aspen, he is desperate to make everyone pay for what they have done. Aspen is feeling numb and empty after her ordeal and luckily as she starts to recover she has little memory of what happened. Quinton makes her feel safe but she feels awkward being at his family’s house.

When Quinton starts his retribution it ends up becoming more involved than he thought and puts his family in the spotlight. Even though they now share a darkness and despair but he shuts her out and pushes her away. He finds it so hard locking away his feelings but there other people to consider so she must return to Corium. Quinton promises to always protect her, no matter what.

Aspen is so confused why he is sending her away when he loves her, especially when she really needs him. Everyone keeps telling her she is stronger than she thinks but she doesn’t believe it. Her school life is very different when she returns but the students still don’t trust her and the threats continue. We know from the previous books there is a strong connection between them and once they are both back at school keeping apart becomes even harder. Brittany continues to be such a supportive friend and Lucas even starts to help her out as she has even more to endure.

Quinton was a bully at the start but after her ordeal he becomes the most considerate lover and friend. It was sweet how they managed to work round the constraints put upon them and be there for each other.  Somehow Aspen manages to find an internal strength to overcome all she has been through and I loved how she starts to stand up for herself. She has to really fight for her life but help comes from some surprising places.

This trilogy has been an enemies to lovers, bully romance, full of drama and suspense. Parts of this book were hard to read and it does get very dark in places but all appropriate to the story. Quinton’s revenge is blood thirsty and Aspen’s experience is heartbreaking and vicious. The thing that stands out is their love for each other and the hope that it will somehow all work out. The ending is fantastic and I was overjoyed for Aspen because none of what happened was ever her fault and she deserved some peace and happiness. I totally recommend this trilogy if you like dark romance.
