’Tis the season for falling in love with this hilarious, heart-warming, second-chance holiday romance.

Down on her luck, all Holly wants for Christmas is for her life to stop unraveling.
The last thing on her to-do list is traveling back to her hometown of Willow Falls. In fact, it’s a place she’s avoided for the past five years.

After being dumped by her boyfriend and fired from her job, stringing twinkle lights, decorating the tree, and sipping hot cocoa with her family turns out to be just what she needs to get out of her funk.

Until a familiar face from her past reappears, wreaking havoc on her life once again.

Liam Cody.

The one who got away.

The boy who shattered her heart and ran off with the pieces years ago.

But one glance at Liam, and all she sees is a strong, confident, sex God of a man. And the worst part? Her heart doesn’t understand he doesn’t belong to her anymore.

As the days tick down to Christmas, can Holly let go of the past and still get her kiss under the mistletoe?

My Review:

Holiday Ever After by J.D. Hollyfield is a funny, heart-warming, second chance romance set at Christmas. This is a story about high school sweethearts and soul mates Holly Bergner and Liam Cody meeting up again in their home town of Willow Falls after five years apart. A perfect quick and sweet read for the holidays which was thoroughly entertaining.

Christmas brings up too many memories for Holly so she has avoided going home the last four years. She has always regretted leaving town but now she must face up to everything because she has no choice as her perfect life has fallen apart and her life is in turmoil. Her boyfriend cheated and her reaction to the news meant she lost her job. After a month of wallowing she decides going home might be a good thing and give her the fresh start she needs.

One of the reasons for not returning home is Liam. He was the love of her life and they were due their HEA but both made hurtful and bad decisions which led to them both walking away. It doesn’t help matters when she finds out he is helping her dad in his store and he is then the first person she runs into on her return. Gone is the shy, lean boy she loved and in his place is a muscular, strong and confident man. She shocked at the difference but realises he is still holding a grudge against her as looks angry, with a cold and unsmiling demeanour.  Their magnetic attraction and connection is still there but she doesn’t want to reopen the scars of their past. It’s taken years for her to get over him so wants to just make it though Xmas and go back home.

Liam is surprised she is back because he’d thought she’d never return as doing well in the city and got everything she wanted. He has never got over her and stayed single, always holding out hope to rekindle their love. As they slowly get to know each other again they realise they should have fought harder for each other. I did get frustrated with Holly at times but Liam was an absolute sweetie and manages her very well. There are some very steamy scenes when they can’t resist each other any longer.

It is very emotional when they eventually talk about what happened, there are good reasons for their reactions and it is sad they had to go through all they did to finally get that HEA. I loved the stories from when they were kids, their adventures and all the things they got up to. The small town vibe was great and all the different events to celebrate Christmas really set the scene and gives the reader a true festive feeling. You can tell right form the start this couple is meant to be together so enjoy the fun as they find their way back to each other.
