Blurb:

I didn’t expect to see Rylee Creed after her brother’s funeral.

That’s the initial reason my jaw hangs slack when she walks into Bent Pedal a month later.

The loss of my friend hit me hard, but that’s nothing compared to the crash she’s endured.

Grief and misery still shadow her every move.

But she’s not alone.

A little boy about the age of my daughter clings to her side.

Their shared pain is too ripe, salt in my raw wounds.

I assume we’re about to make a deal and go our separate ways.

But this bar was Trevor’s pride and joy.

She wants to honor his final wishes.

How can I possibly stand in her way?

Simple. I don’t.

Our paths collide after that point.

The journey forward is messy and complicated, much like us.

Maybe there’s an exchange to be made after all.

Rylee just has to willingly accept the wager.

Then I’ll trade her broken heart for mine.

My 5* Review:

Mine For Yours by Harloe Rae is an emotional and swoony tale about Rhodes Walsh and Rylee Creed. It is a small town, workplace romance with captivating characters who will have you laughing and crying. They are both grieving the death of her brother and trying to cope with life since he died. This is a story about when the right person unexpectedly walks into your life.

Rhodes is a broody, bossy, billionaire bar owner and a single dad to his daughter Payton. He is still in anguish over the death of his best friend and business partner. Rylee has moved back to her home town with her son Gage and is determined to fulfil Trevor’s dreams, which takes her to the Bent Pedal, his pride and joy.

Rhodes is shocked when she walks into the bar and wants to discuss the business. They make assumptions as don’t know each other but he does notice she is as sad as him. Their banter and bickering is so funny and the constant push and pull between them is just as entertaining.

Gage and Payton are so funny and two of the cutest little meddlers you’ll ever meet. Payton is a real spitfire and keeps Rhodes on his toes. Gage is a sweet, loving boy who adored his uncle. These two certainly know how to lighten the moment when their parents were struggling. Be prepared though because there are two other characters that try to steal the limelight.

Rhodes knows he needs to get his act together and thinks she might be the person to rescue him. Rylee feels her attraction to him is inconvenient but is very tempted. I loved the way they got themselves into such a pickle with the embarrassing questions and statements Payton and Gage kept coming up with.

They have had similar experiences with relationships in the past so their journey to be together isn’t easy. He falls for her fast but she doesn’t make it easy for him because she feels she doesn’t need saving especially when his protective side kicks in. I loved the romantic side to Rhodes and his way with words. They are connected through grief but luckily their chemistry takes over and things become very steamy as she slowly gives in. The ending is fantastic and so meaningful for this couple. A delightful and amusing read.
