Blurb:

Brighton Rogers thought her life was as normal as normal could be, even better than normal. She has a thriving career as a lawyer in Boston. Friends and family back in her hometown of Boggy Creek love and adore her. And her boyfriend, Luke Morrison, showers her with love and attention, making her life finally feel complete.

But when Brighton discovers what life with a famous actor is all about–her normal life is turned upside down. All this time, Brighton felt that what they shared was genuine, that Luke was her forever; but now she can’t help but wonder if it was all an act. Was she playing a role she had no idea she’d been cast in? So, she does the one thing she can do and runs straight back to the safety of Boggy Creek.

Luke Morrison never imagined he would entertain the thought of leaving behind his successful career as an actor. Not just any actor, one of the top paid actors in Hollywood. But the moment he meets Brighton on a blind date, his life is changed forever. The only problem is balancing his career while attempting to keep his private life just that…private.

When one too many misunderstandings happen because of the press, Brighton breaks up with Luke, causing him to rethink what lies ahead in his future. A future he cannot imagine without Brighton Rogers in it. But Brighton is no ordinary woman and winning her back will force Luke to make one of the biggest sacrifices he’s ever made; one he is positive he can make because a life without Bree in it, is no life at all.

Now, to win back the love of his life and prove to her she is all that matters to him…

My 5* Review:

Hearts In Motion is book five in the Boggy Creek Valley series by Kelly Elliott. This is Brighton ‘Bree’ Rogers and Luke Morrison’s gorgeous second chance romance story. This can be read as a standalone but you would be missing out on a great series about a fantastic group of friends who live in the idyllic Boggy Creek. If you have read the previous books then you will be excited to find out why Brighton suddenly left Boston and returned home. I have enjoyed this series but this book really stands out and is the best so far. I just couldn’t put this book down and loved this couple and what it takes for them to be together.

Brighton arrived at her parents B&B over three months ago and has told no-one the reason she left her job as a lawyer and life in Boston. The story starts on her thirtieth birthday and her helping out her mother with one of the guests. Luke has checked in under a false name to surprise Bree on her birthday. She is shocked because he is the reason she left everything behind and she hadn’t heard from him since he visited her at the office.

The author then rewinds the story back to when they first met seventeen months earlier at her works Christmas party. She owed her boss a favour for helping her set up Aiden’s pre wedding golf day with the guys. What she didn’t expect was a blind date with his son. He used to be a lawyer but moved to California and the rumours were he was an actor. All she knows is his father disapproves of his lifestyle and career choice.

The moment they meet the chemistry between them is electric and Bree is hilarious with her assumptions about him. Their banter is great and he loves that she has no idea who he is. To everyone at work she portrays a very quiet and serious side but to Luke she is funny and tells him exactly what she is thinking. She feels this weird attraction to him but can she risk her job to start something with Luke. I loved how their relationship developed but the underlying problem of him being famous is always in the background. Could she handle a long distance relationship and all that went with dating an actor?  If he wasn’t careful he was going to turn her life upside down as dating him would be complicated.

Fast forward to the present and she finally has to reveal her secret to her friends when Luke is determined to prove his love for her. Her antics to prevent the inevitable and her interactions with Kyle and Candace are so funny. Kelly Elliott has created a great group and they all play their part in getting this couple back together. I loved how the guys just opened up and accepted Luke. This story just develops beautifully as we learn more about the couple and how they end up managing to figure their lives out to get what they both desired. If you only read one book in the series then this is the one as it is such an engaging tale and Luke will melt your heart.
