Blurb:

We met at his ex’s wedding, where she uttered their safe word in her vows. Immediately his jaw clenched, and his hands balled into tight fists.
Then moments later, he told her I was with him. When in reality, I had snuck into the wedding.
Knowing full well he was trouble, when I tried to leave, he gripped my arm and whispered in a low, intimidating voice.
“Do you sneak into weddings often?”
His words had me stuck to the spot.
It took only a few moments for me to realize this man was dangerous. The only logical thing I could do was kick him where it counts.
Little did I know that man was a hunter.
And it didn’t take him long to find me…

My 5* Review:

Moments Of Madness by T.L. Smith is book two in The Hunters series and a dark but funny romance between Kyson and Kalilah. I couldn’t put this down because their banter was superb and they matched each other with their attitudes. She might by tiny but she packs a punch and he struggles to cope with her. I laughed so much at how they deal with each other while trying to continue with their own lives.  A humorous story with plenty of steamy scenes and a couple who end up being a perfect match.

We met Kyson and his twin Kenzo in their older brother Zuko’s story, Moments Of Malevolence and learnt all three are contract killers. At the end of that book we learnt that Kyson was considering leaving the brothers way of life. He has grown apart from his twin and been having trouble sorting out everything going on his head which isn’t helped when he receives an invite to his ex’s wedding.

He’d broken Lily’s heart when he ended their relationship because he wasn’t willing to change for her but recently he’s had enough of murdering people and wants to find what Zuko has found with Alaska. He decides to attend the wedding and things take an unexpected turn when a tiny but beautiful young woman catches his eye. She sits down next to him in a dress far to big for her and pulls out a flask. It annoys him that she refuses to share her drink and hardly looks at him. He is intrigued by her as can’t believe her foul mouth and behaviour.

Kalilah is sassy and feisty, and thinks Kyson is attractive but cocky. She doesn’t want or need a man because she has so much going on in her life at the moment.  She also doesn’t want him knowing the reason she was at the wedding. She never expects to see him again so is surprised when he finds her drunk one night. Their interaction is hilarious as both annoyed with the other and his brothers are amused at the pair. The trouble for both of them starts when he ends up having to save her which leads to her finding out who he really is. He can’t believe how she talks to him and has no idea how to handle her as no one has stood up to him like that.

He fights his feelings for her but the way she deals with everything that happens slowly changes his mind. While these two battle it out, her past comes back with deadly consequences. The brothers also have to deal with some incriminating information they find and what could be an act of betrayal against them. I liked learning more about the twins and the relationship between the three brothers. If you thought Zuko was the best Hunter, then Kyson will change your mind very quickly. I think it’s going to get bloody with Kenzo as he brings the mayhem in his book.
