Blurb:

Gabriel Hill has always been too charming for his own good. Women. Money. Information. Sex got him everything he ever wanted, until it almost killed him.

A price he was willing to pay, before he met Elise. Before he fell for her.

Now revenge isn’t enough for him. He wants it all. The most beautiful woman. The most dangerous game. And a happily ever after, if it’s not too late to save them both.

Elise Bettencourt was an heiress. And a murderer. She tried to change all that.
She built a new life as a quiet, unassuming baker. She’ll never get rich selling croissants, and that’s a good thing. Money corrupts. It kills.
And then there was Gabriel Hill, a man too charming for his own good. Too rich, too. He wants her. But it’s a dangerous game, vengeance.
Gabriel made his choice, but it might be too late to save him.

My 4* Review:

Fair Game is the third book in the Wealth trilogy by Amelia Wilde. It is the conclusion to Gabriel Hill and Elise Bettencourt’s  love story and brings an end to their fight for justice against her father and The Consortium. It has been an emotional journey and at times heartbreaking but never have I been so pleased for a couple to get their HEA. What started out as a revenge plot has became a twisted game with her dad and a fight for survival. Can they finally bring the Consortium down and what will be the consequences of Gabriel’s actions.

The story starts where the horrendous cliff-hanger ended. We find Gabriel fighting for his life and struggling with all that is happening. He feels hopeless because he is usually the one who helps his family. Elise is trying to sort out her sister Lydia when her other sister Catherine needs help so they have to trust Jacob to go and rescue her.

Elise has convinced herself that she is evil like her dad and it is up to her to protect everyone from him. Gabriel tries to make her see she’s not like her dad because she cares for her sisters but she feels guilty for leaving them at home under his control. She is shocked at how evil her dad is and what he is willing to do to stop the Hill family. She realises it is up to her to stop her father and bring him down but can she take matters with her father into her own hands. Can she lose the bakery, her freedom, Gabriel or even her life.

Can Gabriel finally put to rest his past and what happened to him. For the first time since his parents died he can see a future with Elise after dedicating his life to vengeance. It is a heartbreaking conversation when Gabriel opens up to Mason and tells him what he did. I loved how he let his emotions out and faced all his demons.

They move Lydia into Gabriel’s house but how will she get on living with Nate. It was so sweet that she understood he did what he had to to survive and although they bicker it’s all friendly teasing and very funny. It was lovely seeing the Hill family all together and safe. The Saturday brunches finally being the family gathering of Mason’s dreams.

While I enjoyed seeing this couple get their HEA, I felt we were given a lot of POV’s from other characters, rather than the author concentrating on the couple. I know the events described affected Gabriel and Elise but after going through so much with them, I wanted more of their story. Epilogue is Jameson and his story is next – Flight Risk. Another tale of revenge and justice for their parents against the judge who took everything from them. Catherine and Jacob’s story will continue in Dearly Beloved and be great to get more of Lydia and Nate.
