Blurb:

All Cayson Bexley ever wanted was to fly…⁣
Until a near-fatal crash clipped his wings, sending the injured military pilot back to his hometown and living right next door to me.⁣

From the moment our eyes meet, the attraction is undeniable.⁣
I mean who wouldn’t fall for that achingly gorgeous face, his clean-cut demeanor, and sweet, small town charm?⁣

Other than our mutual love of music, we’re as opposite as two people can be.⁣
Which is precisely why I friend-zone him the moment he shows interest.⁣
But as time goes on, my heart softens to this man who once had it all—a literal hero floundering to find his purpose.⁣

In the midst of my own struggles, I could certainly use a friend.⁣
Heck, I could use more than that.⁣
And I’m not afraid to let Cayson know it.⁣

When I discover my hunk of a neighbor is as shy as he is inexperienced, I offer him a distraction he can’t possibly refuse.⁣
We already share a very thin wall.⁣
Why not a bed too?⁣

There’s only one catch: he’ll have to promise not to fall in love with me…⁣

A no-strings hook-up is every man’s dream, right?⁣
What could possibly go wrong?⁣

My 5* Review:

Blanket Of Stars is book four and completes K.K. Allen’s wonderful Camp Bexley series. She finishes with Cayson Bexley, the baby of the family and Olivia. This can be read as a standalone but I wouldn’t advise it because you will miss out on his three sexy brothers falling hard for their women. A heartfelt and emotional romance as Cayson experiences new things and looks for a new purpose in life and Olivia steps out of her comfort zone, faces her insecurities and embraces small town life. Their journey to a HEA has some angst and heart break but there is also humour along with the love and support from the whole Bexley family.

“To the skies and beyond.”

Cayson an ex-military pilot and hero has been back at Camp Bexley since his plane crashed while on a rescue mission. He is adorable, a sweet, shy and kind gentleman who is trying to find his way now he can’t fly. He’s spent nearly a year recovering with the help of his family but on a rare night out he meets Olivia and is immediately taken by her. Relationships have always taken a backseat to his career so he can’t believe he is finally interested in a woman especially as he has a secret no-one knows about. Unfortunately she turns out to be the one he can’t have.

Olivia is best friends with Brooklyn and they were roommates before both moving to Orcas Island. She sings in a local bar, runs the karaoke night in another and runs her own music production company. She is very stubborn and has made her way without the help of her famous parents. Her ideal man is a rock star as it is a world she knows well and her latest guy is Tyler Walker.

Cayson finds a confidence he doesn’t usually have when he joins her for karaoke. She sees he is interested in her but she won’t go down that route with him especially as she is in the middle of sorting out her relationship with Tyler. He is dishearten when she suggests they hang out as friends and offers to be his wingwoman because he felt the instant spark of attraction between them. Things get interesting when they find out they are neighbours and she gets the opportunity to work for the Bexley’s on the camp entertainment program.

“I’d stare up at the blanket of stars in the sky and map out my future, one constellation at a time.”

Olivia is so confused over her attraction towards him because he isn’t her usual type. She comes up with an idea to help him but then realises there is so much more to him as they get to know each other. It was love at first sight for Carson but Olivia needs some persuading to see what is right in front of her.

As their friendship grows, they open up about their lives and start to understand each other. She knows that he is waiting for the right one and doesn’t realise that he knows that is her! Cayson can’t believe she oblivious to how well they fit together and the easy way they get on. How can he make her see she is the one that he wants.

It was nice seeing how she built up his confidence and we got to see a different side of him. It was fun how through the whole book she tries to guess his call sign. We also get his view on what happened that dreadful day and how he saw his place in the family as the youngest.

It was great catching up with all the brothers and their partners. I loved all the brotherly banter and teasing. The ending was very emotional but it was great how all four brothers came to realise that Camp Bexley is their home, their future and where they all belong. A perfect way to end the series.
