Blurb:

Eloise Eden’s pride and joy is her family’s hotel in Quincy, Montana. Her lifelong dream is to own The Eloise Inn. All she has to do is prove to her parents that she’s the epitome of responsible. That her days of being duped and making reckless decisions are history. She’s so close she can taste it.

Until after one weekend in Las Vegas, she comes home married to a stranger.

Jasper must have put her under a spell with those soul-deep eyes because after a single night together, they woke up husband and wife. Her only hope is to keep this marriage a secret until it’s annulled. Then she’ll pretend it never happened.

Except Jasper begs her to stay married. To fake it for three months so she can accompany him to a wedding. Maybe she’s lost her mind to agree. But her brooding husband seems desperate. It’s only three months, right? Then she’ll say goodbye to Jasper Vale, and with any luck, hello to her new hotel.

My 4* Review:

Jasper Vale is book four in Devney Perry’s The Edens series. If you have read Garnet Flats #3, then you will have met Foster Madden’s trainer Jasper and been intrigued by the cliffhanger over his relationship with Eloise Eden. This is a steamy read about an accidental marriage.

Jasper is a quiet, broody man who reluctantly moved to Quincy to help Foster prepare for his last fight in Vegas. He has kept himself to himself but had noticed the Eden sisters. Foster has flown Eloise and Lyla out to Vegas to keep his wife company and when he wins they all celebrate. Later in the evening Jasper finds himself with a very drunk Eloise and they end up with more than either bargained for. Waking up in the morning as a married couple!

The story follows them trying to navigate the situation they have found themselves in while keeping it secret. Jasper hates lying to Foster as he feels he is betraying his best friend but Eloise is scared of losing the hotel so is reluctant to tell her family. It has been her dream to own the family hotel which she currently manages but due to her kind and caring nature, her parents have been reluctant to hand it over.

When an annulment doesn’t seem possible and divorce the only way to go, all seems impossible for Eloise. When Jasper’s past rears its ugly head and he needs to attend a wedding, he suggests they stay married until then but have to make it look real. Can they fake it and convince her family they are in love and she hasn’t been irresponsible. What can happen in those three months? This couple certainly set the sheets on fire so there is no denying their chemistry. They are definitely compatible in that department but Jasper has never known a loving family or relationship so struggles with his feelings.

It was lovely being back in Quincy and catching up with everyone. Overall I enjoyed the story but I did feel at times we missed out on parts of their relationshi. I definitely didn’t like his family or friends. I felt sorry for Jasper and was pleased he found Eloise even if it was a drunken mistake. She helped him finally talk about his past and he provided the cuddles and protection she desired. Devney gives us a little of everything before the couple realise their fake marriage has turned into something real.
