Blurb:

It wasn’t love at first sight. That would be too easy.

I can tell you all the reasons Paige and I shouldn’t be together.
But love overlooks a lot.

My heart doesn’t care that I’m ten years older.
There’s no age gap in how she makes me feel.

My heart doesn’t care that she’s a single mother.
It just makes more room.

My heart doesn’t care that she’s got secrets of her own.
It’s used to keeping mine.

The moment I laid eyes on Paige, I lost control.
Control of my desires. Control of my secrets. Control of my heart.

Right or wrong, we’re going to have to fight for our happily ever after.

And I don’t plan on losing.

My Review:

The Right Side Of Wrong is a standalone story about when Slade Turner meets Paige Hudson. This unexpected meeting then changes both their lives forever. An age-gap, single parent, opposites attract, boss romance. A little like a Cinderella tale as he is rich and she is poor.

Paige had managed to get to college, escaping a life of poverty and abuse with her drug addict mother. She has learnt to be really good at lying, faking smiles and laughs to hide the pain of her childhood and will do whatever she can to survive. She was desperate to use her brains and not her body but life had other ideas for her and her plans. She now finds herself looking after Finn, her baby and about to be an escort as she is out of options. Paige has promised Finn that his life will be better than hers and she will keep him safe no matter what happens.

“I’ll do whatever I have to. Your life will be better than mine.”

Slade first sees Paige when she is accompanying his father to an event. He is determined to get her away from him because he knows the type of man he is. He is shocked at his initial reaction to her and how attracted he is to her. Due to her overwhelming sense of pride and attitude, Slade ends up offering her a job working at his country house.

Paige doesn’t trust easily and is always suspicious of people’s motives but taking this job will give Finn the better life she is striving for. The story of her childhood is heart breaking but it the reason she shows such strength and determination to provide for Finn. She is confused by Slade and all he does for her because he constantly reminds of how they met.

“It’s wrong and will only end badly. But it feels so right to be in his arms. Maybe that’s what we are: the right side of wrong.”

He is very bossy, complex and guarded so helping Paige surprises everyone as he has never done anything like this before. He amazed at how selfless she is and her unconditional love for Finn. Their relationship is a slow burn as Slade struggles to cope with his growing feelings for her. I liked how she was slowly changing Slade and I giggled at her making him eat vegetables!

It was lovely how supportive Jon and Catrine were to Paige. They can feel the sexual tension between the couple and watch with interest as the relationship develops.

They both have secrets and lie to keep them but the truth eventually comes out and threatens all they have built up. There are some sweet moments between Slade and Finn as he steps up and becomes a father figure for him. I liked Paige more than Slade and after all the trauma she had been through, I was glad she got a HEA for her and Finn. I did guess the main twist and also felt Slade’s secrets weren’t as surprising as I thought they would be but overall I did enjoy the story.
