There is no Power.

Only Rage.

They promised me love and devotion,

And left me with shattered dreams.

They’re back expecting forgiveness.

But my price is very steep.

Betrayal is a risky business,

Now that I’m the Queen they wish to keep.

My 4* Review:

Sin and Betrayal by Sienna Snow is book one of her new Sin And Lies series.  A dark and gritty suspenseful story set in the world of the Greek Mafia. This MMF, forbidden romance covers first love when friends become lovers. Then a forced marriage leads them to become enemies so will they get a second chance at being lovers again. Follow the three friends as they face secrets and lies, pretences and betrayal, alliances and plotting, angst and power games, violence and forgiveness. A heartbreaking and complex tale as loyalty is questioned.

The Angelos Angel Nerine, was in love with two men, they were in a unconventional but committed relationship. Xander and Theo were her lovers, protectors and the only men she trusted until they betrayed and left her. Get caught up in the story of how they all had to become different versions of themselves to survive their new situations and the slow burn romance as the men try to win back her trust and gain the forgiveness of their Angel.

The story starts with the dramatic murder of Andraius Angelos by Nerine. She can’t believe she has finally killed her abusive husband, the monster who forced her by gunpoint to marry him five years ago. That day she lost everyone and everything she’d loved. Andraius had staged a coup against her family, killing her father and baby brother as he took her name and family business, then brutally scarred her. She’d been living in a hell, hiding the signs of his abuse and was ashamed she’d allowed him to take so much from her. All she had wanted to do was escape and have her freedom but now there was no escape.

His attack on her that night was unexpected but luckily she’d had some help recently and surprised him as she wasn’t as weak or stupid as he thought. Her father had raised her to take over as head of the Angelos Syndicate / Shipping and now she needed to fight for what was hers as the true heir to the Angelos throne. Trying to come to terms with what she had done, she hides in her room. We then meet the two men who used to mean the world to her –  Xander and Theo.

We then go back four months and find out everything that led up to Nerine killing her husband and what really occurred in those five years. A series of events takes us back to the prologue and what happens after his body is discovered.

Xander Onassis and Theo Nephus have been best friends and lovers for years. Then they became a trio and their Angel means everything to them. They are full of guilt for letting her down after promising to always be there for her. Circumstances forced them apart and left her thinking they were her enemies because they are running things for Andraius. They have stayed away from her because she is not theirs anymore but are suddenly forced to be her bodyguards and all their feelings for each other are reignited.

Xander is an enforcer, dominant, rough with a volatile reputation but with her he is passionate, kind and patient. It was sweet how he loved caring for her. Theo is a totally different character and I loved how he and Nerine constantly bicker and fight, she really gets under his skin. I felt sorry for Theo as he also lost everything that dreadful night. They know she felt abandoned and is angry but there are reasons behind what they have done.

Will she fulfil her father’s dream and run his empire or will she escape with her family? They have never stopped loving her but could she belong to them again? Lots of twists and turns as the truth is revealed, new friends are made and trust rebuilt, but be prepared for more intrigue and a heart stopping cliffhanger. Can’t wait for book two.
