Lakeshore U, where hockey is religion, and the players are gods.

Are you ready to fall in love with a Laker?

* Bite the Ice is a standalone prequel story in the Lakeshore U series.

Blurb:

When Ella Henshaw agrees to attend the annual Bite the Ice party at Laker House with her best friend, she knows it’s a bad idea. Especially, since it’s a hockey party and she swore off hockey players a long time ago.

Enter Connor Morgan.

Handsome. Confident. With enough persistence to wear down even the most stubborn heart, he’s determined to win over the girl he hurt in freshman year.

When he finds Ella at his team’s annual Halloween party, it’s his opportunity to finally make his move.

He’s the hockey player who broke her heart. She’s the girl he let slip through his fingers.

But can Connor persuade Ella to give him one more chance?

Or will she always be his biggest regret?

My 4* Review:

Bite The Ice is the prequel for L.A Cotton’s new series Lakeshore U.  It is a short but sweet and romantic story about hockey player Connor Morgan and Ella Henshaw. This is a second chance story because Connor and Ella met and dated freshman year. He was a rookie trying to make his mark in the team so he panicked and ended it. Ella thought they had meaningful connection so couldn’t believe it when he broke her heart.

Now in their Junior year,  Connor is hoping she’ll give him another chance because for two years he has regretted his decision and he now knows she is the one that got away. While Connor is determined to win her back, we meet the rest of the players of the university’s hockey team, The Lakers. The author gives us a snippet of information about each of them ready for the upcoming stories. I loved the banter and camaraderie of the group, plus the glimpse at each of their personalities.

She wants nothing to do with him but he is very charming when they meet at the annual Bite The Ice party at the Laker’s  house. Will she give him a second chance? Can he fix her broken heart ?

I found this a good introduction to the group of hockey players who the series will be about. I will enjoy seeing each of the players succumb to love and to seeing more of Connor and Ella. I’m looking forward to Ice Burn because the next to fall is the grumpy and angry Aiden Dumfries.
